The Pan American Games are the second largest international multi-sport event in the world and for Lima 2019 welcomed approximately 6,700 athletes who featured in 39 sports across 62 disciplines, gathering the 41 National Olympic Committees that make up PanAm Sports. The games in Lima were the largest sporting event ever hosted in Peru and are one of the most complicated and operationally challenging projects in the world. EPG were engaged in 2017 by the UK’s Department for International Trade as part of a world first government to government partnership between the UK and Peru. rnrnEPG were proud to have supported the local organising committee with a team of 14 specialists who provided services in concept, planning, and event execution phases to Accreditation, Catering, Cleaning u0026 Waste, Entertainment u0026 Ceremonies, Finance, Medical, Project Management, Technology, u0026 Venue Management. We advised executive on event delivery and procurement model, validating the event budget and provided cost saving recommendations. We established and validated the events service levels across all client groups, reviewed permanent infrastructure design for effective event operations, and led a value engineering exercise for temporary infrastructure across all venues.rnrnKeeping true to our ‘Global Reach, Local Focus’ philosophy, our team provided important mentoring to many of the key Lima 2019 management personnel, with a highlight being our work with the Venue Management team where we built and delivered a training program for all Venue General Managers to prepare them for games time. Since the games, we have employed many former Lima 2019 staff in our projects globally.rn
