The Southeast Asian Games returned to Singapore for the fourth time in 2015, coinciding with the nation’s 50th year of independence. Leveraging infrastructure from the 2010 Youth Olympic Games and the newly opened Singapore Sports Hub, the 28th Southeast Asian Games featured 36 sports across 30 venues.

Singapore hosted over 4,300 athletes from 11 Southeast Asian nations for the 2015 SEA Games. Instead of building a traditional Games Village, the city implemented a “Village in the City” concept, housing athletes and officials in 20 downtown hotels to reduce costs and create a vibrant atmosphere.

The Event Planning Group (EPG) was appointed by the Singapore Sports Hub as Venue Overlay Project Manager, acting as the key operational liaison for temporary overlay installation between the Sports Hub and the local organizing committee (SINGSOC). EPG managed SEA Games activities at key venues like the National Sports Stadium, OCBC Aquatics Centre, and Singapore Indoor Stadium, overseeing bump-in/out schedules, delivery coordination, and venue transitions.

EPG also managed Overlay & Infrastructure contractors, ensuring quality, Health & Safety compliance, and resolving issues. The team worked closely with major stakeholders, including Sports Singapore, the Singapore Police, and SMRT, and supervised turf replacement post-Opening Ceremony and FOP security for the football finals and Closing Ceremony.
