The World Masters Games is the largest multi-sport event globally, surpassing even the Olympic Games in athlete participation. Auckland hosted the ninth edition, with over 28,000 participants competing in 28 sports across 48 competition venues.

The World Masters Games 2017 Limited (WMG2017) engaged the Event Planning Group (EPG) to provide Games Delivery Coordination Services, covering five key phases: Concept Planning, Operational Planning, Readiness & Testing, Games Delivery, and Post-Games.

EPG’s responsibilities included developing the Concept of Operations and Strategic Plan, conducting Games Readiness Exercises with key stakeholders, and creating the Games Operations Centre (GOC) plan. EPG also led readiness exercises with personnel, sports partners, suppliers, and government agencies.

During the Games, EPG managed the Games Operation Centre at the Auckland Transport Operations Centre, acting as the central hub for information flow, incident management, and coordination across all stakeholders, ensuring smooth operations and timely issue resolution.
