EPG played a crucial role in helping Azerbaijan position itself as a major event destination. In September 2011, Baku submitted a bid to host the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, building on its previous bid for the 2016 Games. EPG contributed to the development of a key chapter in the bid book, focusing on cost management, overlay & infrastructure requirements, and providing preliminary estimates for logistics and village operations. 

Although Baku was not selected for the 2020 Olympics, the work EPG completed was instrumental in securing the city as the host for the 2015 European Games and facilitated the construction of key venues, including the 68,700-capacity retractable roof stadium in Boyuk Shor.
