Designed by the Imre Makovecz Foundation, the Hungarian Pavilion at Expo 2020 was a four-story structure located in the Jubilee District. Spanning 2,000 sqm, the Pavilion welcomed over 1 million visitors during the event. EPG was appointed by Kraftwerk Design & Production, representing the Hungarian Government, in March 2021 to provide consultancy services across the Pavilion’s fit-out, operations, and decommissioning phases.
EPG led key workshops and site visits prior to the fit-out, developing essential documents for project commencement, including Logistics, Health & Safety, and Worker Welfare Management plans. We collaborated with regulatory bodies like Dubai South and Expo 2020’s Construction Logistics department to ensure compliance. EPG experts mobilised quickly to inspect the site, set milestones, and develop a roadmap for site access and works completion.
Once the fit-out period was completed and regulatory approvals were granted, EPG provided further consultancy in developing the Venue Operating Plan, Subcontractor Management strategy, and Facilities Maintenance plan, ensuring timely approval for Pavilion opening in October 2021. EPG continued to offer ongoing support during the operational period and successfully developed the Decommissioning and Load Out Strategy, which was approved in March 2022, helping the Hungarian Government complete the project efficiently.
