FIFA Confederations Cup

Delivering Catering & Hospitality services to the Confederations.

With Brazil about to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Rio Sumer Olympic Games, the ninth FIFA Confederations Cup was perhaps the most important event that Brazil would host in the lead up to these events. The sixteen (16) day event, held across six (6) cities and venues, attracting in excess of 800,000 spectators, was a chance for Brazil to showcase to the world its event preparations and its ability to host the two biggest sporting events in the world. Held every four years, the FIFA Confederations Cup is contested by the holders of each of the six (6) FIFA Confederation Championships, along with the FIFA World Cup holder and the host nation.

Our EPG team was engaged to assist its local partner in venue management delivery for catering & hospitality spaces including on-day management. We provided these services at the Arena Pernambuco in Recife and Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janiero, where local team Brazil ultimately won the tournament, defeating Spain 3-0 in front of a near capacity crowd of over 73,500.

EPG’s role had particular emphasis on ensuring quality hospitality service delivery to VIP areas and the associated logistics functions for these spaces. This included management of the hospitality workforce,supplier deliveries and the arrivals process for guests.
